STEM Year 7-10

The STEM resource pack provides students and teachers with everything they need to undertake an engaging, authentic and deep learning experience that can last up to ten weeks. Students will use the STEM Design Thinking Process to identify a problem related to a chosen environmental issue and develop an innovative solution that will be entered into the Green Innovation Awards. The student booklet not only scaffolds the brainstorming and research phases to get the students started, but also provides a marking-criteria, student self-reflection and a checklist to guide them through the entire process. The authentic audiences and the formal and competitive nature of the Awards keep students engaged and focused on excellence. The GIA directly fosters teamwork, creativity, time management, problem solving and communication skills. Digital literacy and resilience are also skills that will be developed during the process.
